Easy sizing guide

  • Lead acid / AGM: avoid regularly discharging below about 50% if long life matters.
  • LiFePO₄: commonly allows deeper usable capacity, but must use the correct BMS and charger profile.
  • Cold or hot conditions: add reserve capacity because real-world performance drops under harsh conditions.
  • High inverter loads: check surge current, cable size, fusing and voltage drop before installation.

Formula used

Required Ah = Daily Wh × days ÷ system voltage ÷ inverter efficiency ÷ depth of discharge × temperature factor.

This is a sizing estimate, not a substitute for a proper load audit, voltage-drop calculation, fuse selection and battery manufacturer data.
